For two fabulous weeks in October the children of St. Mary’s had the opportunity to see and hear incredible music. We had visits from Witney Town Band, The School of Rock, Frank Harrison playing jazz, string instruments from Oxon County Music Service and Salt Box Music Discovery. Parents shared their talents too with Mr Lovell playing brass instruments and Mr Whitaker on guitar.
We hope the event inspired the children to develop their musical talents and their appreciation of different musical genres. Who knows we may have motivated a future performer at Madison Square Gardens!
The festival was a huge success and as a school community we would like to express our thanks to Kate Pengelly, a parent and governor, for organising such a wonderful two weeks of music.
